Barrie Taylor

Barrie was born in North Manchester and grew up in Reddish, Stockport Cheshire.
Attending Reddish Vale High School his musical career began at 11 years old playing in the school brass band.

A fast learner with a flair for music saw him quickly develop his skills and by the age of fifteen he was playing drums in “rock and roll” and “blues” bands with seasoned musicians twice his age in pubs and clubs across the North West of England.

Throughout the years Barrie has been involved in many different bands and playing projects and has touched on just about every aspect of the music industry. In 1985, he formed the song writing partnership with Alan Cadwallader were together they have enjoyed continued success over the years.

In addition to this he has remained at the forefront of live and recording work performing with bands such as Moriarty, Pro-Create, Hoi Polloi, Panacea, The Executive, Green Vigo, The Andy Penzak Trio and The Humbuckers playing at such prestigious venues as the world-famous Marquee Club London and the O2 Apollo Theatre Manchester.

Whilst Barrie is recognised firstly as a drummer he is a respected songwriter, producer and studio engineer, he is also able to play guitar, keyboards, and a range of brass and woodwind instruments. He also holds the world record along with 797 other drummers for the largest full drum kit ensemble set on 15th July 2012 at Manchester Event City.

He now lives in East Manchester where he relaxes with a glass of wine and his Formula 1 model car collection.
